A Handshake Says Thousand Words


Normally when we greet a person, handshake is the first body language & also a first impression to others.

Now here is some research about what a handshake says about you.

1.  A weak handshake shows the person is lack of confidence.

2. A handshake with both hand is also called a politician handshake. The initiator is trying to show his sincerity.

3. A handshake with taking an upper hand is showing over confidence of initiator & a controller. It's also called as a dictator handshake.

4. A very quick brush off handshake shows the initiator is don't care & don't have time to this person.

5. A too hard or too long handshake shows negative excess or overcompensation.

6. A handshake with only grasp finger shows the insecurity of the person.

7. A claw of a lobster, the other person’s thumb and fingers touch the palm of your hand. The person doing this fears connecting at a deep level and may have challenges building relationships.

8. A handshake without eye contact shows the shyness & insecurity of the person.

9.Finally, the right way to shake someone’s hand. Remember to:
  • Keep good posture
  • Make eye contact
  • Hold your RIGHT hand out
  • Give a good firm shake
  • Follow the 2 seconds rule
  • Smile!
  • Greet the other person and repeat their name
